Blue Ridge Orthopaedic Food Drive nets 2,000 items
Jeff Hollis, Ashley Rankin, Kim Bollmann and Melissa Loving box up donated food items in preparation for delivery to the Fauquier Food Bank.
A food drive sponsored by the Blue Ridge Orthopaedic Foundation brought in $300 and 2,000 items of non-perishable food for the Fauquier Food Bank, where it was welcomed just in time for the holiday rush.
Over the past three years, the food drive at Blue Ridge has brought in over $4,000 for area food banks.
Both Blue Ridge employees and members of the community participate in the annual five-week food drive.
An added feature this year was a visit from Santa at the Blue Ridge Warrenton location.
The Blue Ridge Orthopaedic Foundation was established in 2012 with the sole purpose of providing financial support to local non-profits. Through fundraising events and other gift-giving campaigns, BROF has provided funds to the Fauquier Habitat for Humanity, Fauquier Free Clinic, Boys & Girls Club of Fauquier, Fauquier Food Bank, Fauquier Family Shelter and other certified 501(c)(3) organizations that support the citizens of Fauquier County and surrounding areas.
